I think they're trying to cater to the more wealthy, fat soccer mom demographic which you find out in the suburbs. They tend to like (and eat) donuts far more often than the 20-something liberal, in shape types downtown.KCPowercat wrote: treating kc just like the donuts they sell....leave that big hole in the middle DD.

Perhaps, but the loop itself is a no-brainer. No where else in town are you going to find a greater concentration of conference rooms waiting to be adorned with a dozen donuts for the 9AM staff meeting.kcmetro wrote: I think they're trying to cater to the more wealthy, fat soccer mom demographic which you find out in the suburbs. Did I also fail to mention that DT is home to a rather large police headquarters facility?LenexatoKCMO wrote: Perhaps, but the loop itself is a no-brainer. Dunkin Donuts needs to hurry up and get downtown so that downtowners can complain about how much better local donut places are.

Are there even any? Lamars in midtown - but they don't even really count as local anymore.KCMax wrote: Dunkin Donuts needs to hurry up and get downtown so that downtowners can complain about how much better local donut places are.

And they'll blame Cordish for running all the hole-in-the-wall donut shops out of the area.KCMax wrote: Dunkin Donuts needs to hurry up and get downtown so that downtowners can complain about how much better local donut places are.

What hole in the walls? I don't really believe DD is all that great - but its better than nothing. I guess you can get donuts at the Consentino's bakery counter but god only know where those came from or how fresh they might be.

well it is pretty silly anyhow - residents and DT hipsters aren't the force that makes a DTDD a slam dunk - its all those fat suburban types metro was alluding to picking a dozen up on the way to their sedentary office jobs.

Yea, I was just teasing. Obviously I think DD would do gangbusters downtown with all the workers and it is a bit of a mystery why that wasn't one of their first locations.KCPowercat wrote: lenexa...they are just being silly...and it is pretty truthful
Would they fit in P&L in one of the smaller spaces? I wonder if Cordish has contacted them at all.

How do you know that the Downtown area is getting one? I hope one in Olathe on 135th Street.
