What is the sentiment like here? Are people generally optimistic about this passing?

I figure 65% yes on the TDD is a conservative guess. Probably not much past that but that's still a clear win.

Toss up either direction on next week's. By no means is it a given it will pass. Either result, much tighter than in the past

If both pass can fairly say transit sentiment has changed.

absolutely will pass, the question is by what margin. once the court releases the total number of ballots received tomorrow morning, i'll give you an estimate.

I'm more confident Question 1 will pass by a whopping margin.

there's no basis for that. i'm not aware of KCMO voters ever approving something punitive like that. there's also no polling and the turnout is a big gamble given no one seems to know an election is coming and it's just petition initiatives.

As DaveKCMO correctly pointed out, it is a totally baseless gut feeling. I just suspect the wording of the question is maybe in touch with the mood of the moment. I'd love to be wrong.

My fear is that because it has largely flown under the radar...all SMARTKC has to do is rally their supporters to flood the ballot boxes to pass the measure (i.e. the same folks who signed it). A small turnout, I think, could play right into passing the initiative.

If someone designs a flyer I'll go distribute them on the streetcar over the weekend. Seriously.

Feel free to use. Order of places is on purpose, want to stress east side connections.

From the KCRTA guide:

director election Oct 10
election is formally ordered
ballot requests due Dec 19
ballots mailed Jan 9
ballots due Feb 20

So we'll know if there's any local match money in 7 months. While extremely unlikely could have a TDD that can't build anything.
