I rode this monster Thursday for media day and again yesterday. You won't be disappointed. Hopefully we'll have a few photos from the park uploaded at worldsoffun.org soon.

That picture makes it look kinda short.  At least compared to the Orient.  Anyone able to compare the two?

I went opening day and rode the Patriot four times. It is a TOTAL BLAST! It's my new favorite ride in the park. Compared to the Orient it may be a little bit shorter of a ride but definitely a superior coaster, being suspended like that is a whole new experience.

any recommendations on how not to get sick on rollercoasters?  Generally, they look cool, and i want to ride them.  But when i do, i end up being dizzy/nauseous for the next couple of hours (usually ruining my day at the theme park).  Or is it just something you either handle or don't?

yeh, i guess we've now established that i'm a complete wimp  :?  :lol:

First off, for obvious reasons, don't eat anything beforehand.

And then take those meds that people use to prevent sea sickness on cruises, though I'm not sure how they handle fast-paced action.

For what it's worth, the park sells Dramamine and Pepto Bismol in the new Patriot Landing gift shop.  :)

Anybody know wht the minimum height is for most of the rides at WOF? Thinking of taking my 10 year old in a couple of weeks but I won't if we can't ride anything.

Do they still have the Beatle Bumps?  That was my favorite when I was "below the line."  I think it's gone now.

That and the Shishkaboomer (sic). And my favorite teenage ride "The Zambezze Zinger" nothing like having a screaming girl between your legs.

That didn't sound right :?

no, it didn't, but the zambizi was one of the better childhood memories... the tunnel, especially!

Most of the more exciting rides are 48" (4 feet) and up.

for some reason, 48" sounds like the heighth requirement, however, not sure.

i loved WOF as a kid.  the Zambezi Zinger was the only coaster i could ride, due to my being a colossal weenie.  now, of course, the Zinger has gone to that Great Amusement Park in the Sky - by which i mean WOF sold it off to a park in South America, where kids don't deserve safe rides.

i haven't been to WOF in at least 14 years, so i don't know what is there and what isn't.  i just know i loved the following rides/attractions:

* Bamboozler
* Finnish Fling
* Viking Voyager
* Fury of the Nile
* Pandemonium (still better than IMAX in my opinion...it was awesome to lie on the floor and be thrust into car chase footage filmed in 1985).
* Omegatron
* the hilariously inept "haunted house"
* the Scrambler
* the console where you operated radio-controlled Gran Prix race cars and/or boats.
* the "Taxi" ride

Which one is the bucket that spins you against the wall, and then the floor drops out?  I always enjoyed seeing stuffed animals pinned to the wall, and the five-year olds not sliding down until everyone else had been on the ground for 10 seconds.

Finnish Fling.  that ride was awesome, mostly because it seemed (and maybe is?) actually dangerous.

The Taxi ride got me kicked out of the park on more than one occasion.

I always hated the FF.  If you wear shorts the carpet on the wall tends to rip the hair out of the back of your leg.  I don't need any Epilady action with my amusement park rides thank you very much.
