Cool.  It seemed like a hell of a lot of structural strength for two story retail buildings (but you never know.... them books and clothes can get mighty heavy...)
KC Region is all part of the same animal regardless of state and county lines.

Brick facing going on as well as banner reading "Hotel President Parking."  The very high ceiling of the center portion of this structure reminds me of many of the large chain bookstores I have seen.

There is also a walkway from 13th & Baltimore/Main area south into what I'm guessing is the parking garage...is it open now?

Nice pic...I really like how that garage is coming together.  The tall brick pillars with the setback hotel parking sign looks like an interesting design...can't wait to see it done.

What I see does not yet look very enticing as it is part of the pedestrian/retail mid block passage that will extend all the way to Grand.  The passage through the other blocks is much more interesting, but then much will depend on the design of the building yet to go on the 14th st corner.

yeah that last building will do alot for the pedestrian experience....it's cool sitting at Baltimore and being able to kind of see all the way to the arena.....will give a good visual endpoint for people walking through the "alley" and all the while discovering what the 3 blocks in between have to offer.

When are they supposed to start that building, btw?  Surely they plan to sex up the port-a-potty and dumpster storage eye-sore sometime before the Sprint center opens.  Also, it's hard to see where else will remain to put a crane for work on that building since all the sites around it are now built up.  I'm guessing we'll be looking at a Baltimore or 14th St. closure somewhere down the line?

I think it is just supposed to be like a one story, free standing restaurant space; the original plans called for a steak house, I believe.  Thus I imagine it can be thrown up pretty fast and won't require a crane.

The garage entrance you are think about is already there and open.  There is a drive between the site of this building and the President that accesses it.

I think that corner would have been a better place for the Kansas City Repertory Theatre building.  It would have created a theater row, and would have been neat to have three marquees lined up along Main.
There is no fifth destination.

yes. but you cannot see that entrance in the above rendering, which clearly represents that whole block, not just the brick structure behind the president. it makes me question the accuracy.

the only entrance is on the south side of the block...you can't see that in the rendering but it's right behind that fake tree.
