Isn't Ben Sundermeier of Space Planning and Design doing the interiors?  He is the same guy on the Hotel Monroe Condo conversion.  I am a fan...ever see the Rieger(sp?) Hotel conversion to single family home?

I think this is one of the more aesthetically pleasing buildings planned for the midtown area.  Is it underway?  Is there a tower crane on-site yet?

they've been excavating for the last couple of weeks, as of this past weekend it looks like they might have the site ready, I think they'll be setting the foundation pretty soon.

^I was thinking it was the West Edge project that had budget overruns, not this one.

It's called density people....this doesn't break any height restrictions that I'm aware of, it's just the variance of being too close to the building to the north.

They fight EVERYTHING.
Density creates more problems then it solves.  Which is why people deserve to have input.

Who the hell you think all these pricey condo's are being built and marketed to?

Old People with tons of bucks.

That is an embarrasment to our city when people in the urban core complain about density.  Come on people, this isn't Olathe, we don't surround our property with acres of pretty land.  Ever been to San Francisco?

I have never understodd the nimby mentality.  I mean it's one thing if you've lived in the country for 40 years and the city's sprawl starts to engulf your open fields.  But WHY would you move to one of the hottest developing urban areas in the region, then complain about highrises being built?  That's like the people who move out to 130th and Metcalf or whatever and then complain that they want to build a Wal-Mart after the area is full of residents.

Are you really bitching about a two year old post?  If you hadn't of just qouted the damn thing, it probably would have never been read again.  And people are giving the mods crap . . . Get a grip.

Well there are still plenty of people around thinking like that.

They are the ones that need to get a "grip".
