Relax, they're just talking possible temporary sites while permanent home is restored.

Not sure who you're accusing of being an ass but stargazer was right. It's temporary. Yes, other cities could offer rediculous bribes and lose money on the temporary relocation.

On the other hand, Omaha having the Rays for a year or two would definitely reduce the number of fans making the drive to KC. I've gone to a ton of baseball & football games in KC and I've never understood why the stadiums never drew any restaurants or bars. Just out in the middle of nowhere...tailgate or pay up the wazoo for food & beer.

Because single use areas only activated for 1/3 of the year at best with no means of access except personal automobiles are objectively bad for encouraging literally any development.

Facebook posts from the Omaha Streetcar are saying that utility work and the replacement of the two bridges over I-480 will begin soon. They're getting ready to set sail.

Is there any chance Omaha catches Kansas City's population in the next 20 years? I didn't realize we're only about 25k bigger.

The population of the entire state of Nebraska is less than the KC metro. But yeah, thanks to our liberal annexation laws, the city of Omaha may well surpass the city of KCMO's population.. for what it's worth. It has been a blessing in terms of capturing otherwise escaping tax revenue.
