Fair. When I've gone I usually find myself picking it up to go for dinner. I skip soft drinks at almost all restaurants these days due to both the markup and health concerns. In any case I find the to-go portion size on their Chinese entrees is usually enough for me to make 2 meals out of it.dnweava wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 9:29 amDidn't realize there was a new place there. Just looked up their menu and DAMN it's expensive. For example: general chicken, crab Rangoon, and a soda is over $30 before tax/tip, that's outside my lunch budget.HalcyonKC wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 7:55 amThe Red Dragon space is now occupied by Asian Cafe, which does feature Chinese entrees along with Vietnamese Pho. Don't know if you've tried it but it is worth a visit.dnweava wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 11:43 am
We lost the Chinese place that was in center city square a few years ago that ALWAYS had a line at lunch and never got a replacement (I ate lunch there at least once per week), lost the red dragon on 8th , and the city market bo lings since then too. We need a mom and pop Chinese place in in the downtown core. (anything that's better than panda express...)

I still don't know what dn is looking for? Nice sit down? counter service? buffet?
No doubt downtown overall lacks in chinese cuisine. That's what the new bo's kitchen was supposed to deliver but whatever is happening with that place.

I'd like something like bo's kitchen or what we had in city center. A place to get a $10-12 quick and decent Chinese lunch walkable from the CBD.KCPowercat wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 10:29 am I still don't know what dn is looking for? Nice sit down? counter service? buffet?

The problem with Bo's was the tiny/lacking menu and it had minimal seating meant the people I took there weren't interested in going back, it was essentially designed mostly for Uber eats orders it seemed. It was also poorly advertised, nobody knew it was there.

You can't get out of Panda Express for $10. People need to adjust their expectations after the inflation we had and are about to have.dnweava wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 12:16 amI'd like something like bo's kitchen or what we had in city center.
