A string of center medians some with planters are going in along Broadway Blvd starting at about W 42nd St up to Linwood Blvd. These compliment the many added crosswalks that have been installed along this same stretch. Is this part of the "Broadway Upgrades" that MidtownKC NOW posted about a while back or something unrelated? Regardless, as someone that lives on Broadway Blvd, I'm excited for the slower speeds that these will encourage.

They went way overboard with the ones on Westport road near main. My main concern is like everything else in this city there won't be any upkeeping and it'll just turn into a weed infested trash island.

How long before cars drive over them? The Mcdonalds on broadway you cannot really turn left when you exit the drive thru (Which is a good thing) but feel like a lot of drivers will get frustrated and just jump the medians to turn left

That reminds me I drove by them on Sunday. People leaving snooze couldn't even bother walking the extra 10 feet to safety cross the street. Instead they walked directly in front. These things are a huge waste

I use Firefox on Windows as my browser.

As a privacy thing, Firefox opens Facebook in its own container tab that doesn't interact with the rest of your browser, to make it more difficult for Facebook to track your browsing activity. That could be why you aren't able to go back in the same tab after clicking a link to Facebook. If I open your Facebook link, Firefox turns the tab into a Facebook container and doesn't allow me to go back either.

I was talking to my old bosses at Westport Coffee House (side hustle job) the other day, they said that they are wanting to retire at some point this year. I also noticed that they have the buildings up for sale. Any chance that old proposal for that site, Char Bar, and the garage get resurrected? That's probably not gonna happen in this climate, but imho I would love to see some housing there.

Read just yesterday some new owners bought it. They will be opening up the coffee shop in late April IIRC

I know Paris, France, diverts stormwater into underground cisterns like this.

Looks like a great idea, and an improvement to that park.

I always wanted to see a pedestrian bridge go from that 'park' across to Mill Creek Park. It would follow the same path as the old trolley bridge that was there, but be much slimmer. This would allow someone to walk seamlessly from Pennsylvania in Westport to Mill Creek and over to the Plaza. It would be a safe and pleasant walk all without leaving the park system.

Yeah, its a bit of a shame as I like that building. It's not a huge or significant building, but it had a nice design, some stone accents, and a nice row of birch trees outside the windows.

Not sure what is planned for the site.
