Seattle and Vegas get the expansion. Next relocation after that could be a decade, at least, right?
Probably whenever the owner of New Orleans passes away

Pat has money, so does Kelce, Bobby Witt, etc. But there just is not enough private section money (CEO's, etc.) in the Metro that want an NBA franchise. Overall the Metro lacks impactful, wealthy power brokers to make stuff like this happen. I mean KC is not some sort of hillbilly heaven and we do not have wealth it's just we lack what you need to bring the NBA or NHL. Can that change? Sure, but it would be someone from outside KC looking to be a 60% owner looking to drum up the other 40%
I mean, Taylor Swift could do it on her own.
I mean from the financial ability, sure. She has the capital and is sitting pretty with income/revenue continuing to come in. I realize you are joking but I doubt highly she has any interest in the NBA. Maybe if her & Travis get married they may as a couple decide to do something. Keeping up with the Mahomes's and all 8) . But I'm pretty sure once Travis retires they will be living in NYC, LA, and maybe KC. But it would not surprise me at all, if they are together, once Travis retires he moves onto the next chapter of his life and that will not be in KC, or at least KC will not be the home base.

Yeah this is truly it. Dallas is too big a market for the league to move from. However, it doesn’t look like sports betting will get passed in the TX legislature this year

The reasons for the trade are probably some combination of:
- Nico believing AD makes the team better and AD is a better superstar than Luka
- the owners not wanting to pay the luxury tax

Still indefensible. Team was in the finals 9 months ago

I think it's simpler than that and you guys are underestimating how much the super rich hate laziness, especially on their own dime. Luca is by all accounts extremely lazy and entitled. That would drive any owner crazy. It's certainly not the first time we've seen someone traded or benched for laziness.

The trade is a head scratcher, but I agree that maybe the owners got tired of his act, and if they can save money and give a boost to the culture sobeit. As for the Mavs moving to Vegas, that is super deep state conspiracy talk. Now way the NBA is leaving a market like Dallas. Yes, I realize the Sonics left Seattle for the tiny market of OKC. But Dallas Metro is bigger than Seattle Metro. A move to Vegas would be financially solid for several years but I'm not seeing the long term viability of any Pro Teams in Vegas. Basically you are looking to rely on your opponents fans and visitors to Vegas just looking for something to do. In terms of building a fanbase it will only go so far, and never be what it was before relocation.

Vegas is showing that now with the Raiders and it has the benefit of being a CA NFL team for decades. I mean if you lived in Vegas you were a Broncos, Cardinals, 49'ers, Chargers or Raiders fans for years. And I would say Vegas more aligns with Southern CA. Maybe Rams while they were in LA before they moved. Point being there was no history.

A's about to find out in a big way that the short term gains in revenue will dry up quick and they'll be looking for a new home in 10yrs once they start playing in Vegas, if they ever do.
