Not sure who you're accusing of being an ass but stargazer was right. It's temporary. Yes, other cities could offer rediculous bribes and lose money on the temporary relocation.
On the other hand, Omaha having the Rays for a year or two would definitely reduce the number of fans making the drive to KC. I've gone to a ton of baseball & football games in KC and I've never understood why the stadiums never drew any restaurants or bars. Just out in the middle of nowhere...tailgate or pay up the wazoo for food & beer.
