Re: Detroit
Seems like a lot of waste, but good on Bedrock for keeping Detroit’s downtown moving!

Re: Detroit
Tbh not really seeing that being a big gamechanger...which is what a $1.5 bil project should be for a city like that. Can't stop looking at the two giant parking garages.

Detroit proposing demolishing two 39-story high rises... KCRag: cool!
If MAC had proposed demolishing the 3-story US Bank building for their Main & Armour project... KCRag: what an environmental disaster! Do you realize how much concrete that is?!

I mean you have a point, which is why I said it seems like a lot of waste.Critical_Mass wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 8:25 am Detroit proposing demolishing two 39-story high rises... KCRag: cool!

I guess context matters here; Ren Center is a kind of walled city that hasn't been super healthy for downtown Detroit. This project seems to be trying to crack it open to better interface with the successful (corruption notwithstanding) river walk. Hopefully plans can change and they can do that without knocking towers down.
