So if you stop the stealing of cars, the sideshows go down

Of course they're stolen, they thrash the fuck out of them. It makes perfect sense. You can destroy them and just jump and run.

+1

I can't believe this is news to anyone.

Pretty obvious given it's all stolen Dodge's, Corvette's, and the like. Especially given the 13 year old drivers and backseat passengers.

KMBC reported tonight that Mayor Lucas wants people to contact his office if calls to 311 about street racing aren't receiving a response.

Following multiple safety concerns, Grand will now remain closed each weekend from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. as mandated by the KCPD. This schedule aims to minimize any disruption to the bus route.

Downtown needs a master plan. Closing the street for 9 hours every day is silly. Just go all the way and close it 24/7 at that point and make it a pedestrian only street.

At least allow the MAX line to come through...

Move the MAX to Oak. It doesn't need to be so close to the streetcar anyways.

I wonder if I could have the street in front of my business closed because of street racers that the PD refuses to address causing safety concerns for my customers?

Minimize the impact to bus service my ass. NO ONE on Grand cares about transit. They'd rather all the bus stops go away. I've heard it all from years inside and outside the agency. There's more than one bus route, btw.

Tis as we have seen only kinda removes the problem from the front door of cordish. 11th and Grand and Truman and grand will increase in activity and southwest Blvd will continue to be. A problem with no action from the police.

Cool

Yeah, no joke, just close it all the time if you are going to do this.

Or better yet, rebuild the street for people not cars. Hardly any cars use it anyway and with all that pavement and no real traffic, it's easy for people to do their stupid donuts or whatever in the middle of the street. Not so easy in something like this:
