You could just say Southwest and Nashville. This thread requires to much googling of letters.
Yes please and thank you.

Iceland Air launching Nashville. Announced today.

Discover Airlines (Lufthansa) will no longer expand to Nashville and instead is pursuing other cities.

I will probably not, I'm just too used to saying the airport/airline codes on other flying threads. How hard is it to google BNA airport code? It's just a force of habit, I'm sorry

This comes shortly after Icelandair and Southwest announce their partnership

Yeah, try reading the threads on frequent flyer forums like seat guru or flyer talk or just reddit.

Every other "word" is an acronym and it's not just the airport codes.

It really seems like MCI is destined to just be a regional airport now. It's a nice regional airport, but it mostly just feeds into a few hubs. DFW, DEN, Chicago etc.

I really think KC missed the boat and was about 15 years too late with the terminal. I still think that had KC built a new terminal before SW moved into Denver and built a larger focus city in STL, that MCI would likely be a major focus city today. Also, Delta or somebody might have a mini hub in KC. And that is ultimately what would help KC get transatlantic flights. You need more feeder flights into a city like KC to really sustain international flights and KC barely has flights to places like Omaha, Wichita, Little Rock, Des Moines, Tulsa, Springfield etc. StL has flights to those regional cities.

Indianapolis to Europe flight to be announced next month (rumored Dublin). In Ireland, the rumor is that 2 flights to North American will be announced next week.

Spirit cuts KC to Boston. Kind of figured it would not last long

Business Journal is out with an article on St Louis’s bid to land flights on Aer Lingus to Dublin using the $5 million subsidy the state originally created to help Kansas City. We will know who the 2-3 Aer Lingus additions are in the next 1-2 weeks.

From what I've seen online it looks like Indianapolis and either Columbus or Raleigh, but St. Louis isn't out of the question I suppose. I just don't know if they can support another nonstop transatlantic flight, can they?

According to flight statistics and that article, STL Lufthansa flights had over 34,000 passengers last year and flights are averaging 90% or above outbound and close to 90% inbound. Looks like they could easily support more service.

The 5 million set aside by Missouri is for either MCI or STL to gain service in what I am reading. Otherwise, if it was for one city or the other, that would be trouble. There was an article in the Star about that.

Also, the BIZ Journal article says the incentives for Lufthansa in STL have ran out and the airline continues to fly the successful flight now over 2 years and has STL on regular service calendar year into Autumn 2025.

It should also be noted that more than 70% of the STL LH passengers are continuing onto other routes. St. Louis' Bosnian, Indian and Jewish communities are very large and representing a large number of passengers to the Mideast and Southeast EU.

Are we really about to be the only major city in the Midwest without a TATL flight? They're even giving one to Indy and Columbus now? Jesus.
