WHHHHAAAATTTTTTTT are you saying? It's literally their best tenant! It's the anchor and something downtown needed desperately. The city didn't demand it. Cordish has been in commercial leasing for over 100 years, they're not just into entertainment and shots.beautyfromashes wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 2:27 pmThe city demanded it as part of the original build. The guy that said he'd starve before eating unhealthy fast food brags about the most unhealthy looking shake place I've ever seen. Does a shake come with a vial of insulin?
I'd also like to clarify that the Burger King was poorly run and the food wasn't anywhere as good as a typical BK, didn't have a full menu, and never had the promo prices that regular locations had which is why I rarely went there. (The main Street location was just as bad and closed). But it always had a line at lunch, lots of construction workers ate there and there is always construction going on downtown. Now you always see a table or two of people wearing hard hats eating at costentinos every day.

At this point with lack of pace they're moving on that row of retail spots, I'll just take the tower lobby at this point. Ideally they do more than just a lobby there. Just get something with any pulse of foot traffic on that stretch.

I think it’s best to wait a little bit longer since 5 Light could go at the Strata site and who knows what a vertical project of many floors would do to businesses.

Why didn't they put the shake place across the street from the Mainstreet Theater in the more prominent corner location? Did they not want to pay for the build-out? Is that space too big?

If that is the case, it begs the question should 5 Light be built before 4 Light so we can fill these retail spaces? Otherwise, they are sitting empty for who knows how long.Chris Stritzel wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 8:04 pm I think it’s best to wait a little bit longer since 5 Light could go at the Strata site and who knows what a vertical project of many floors would do to businesses.

You seem to be confusing a meal with desserts. If people are heading into this place to grab a 1500 calorie shake for lunch, they've likely already got the insulin loaded on the pump attached to their bodies.dnweava wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 6:21 pmThe guy that said he'd starve before eating unhealthy fast food brags about the most unhealthy looking shake place I've ever seen. So deadly fast food isnt' enough motivation for you, you need the promo prices as well? The food wasn't as good at this BK than other BK's? You do know they standardize the product and equipment right? The quality of the food doesn't change from location to location, it's kind of their entire business model but I'm guessing if there's anyone on this forum who can tell the different between a Whopper from a BK up north and a Whopper from downtown, you'd be the guy.

Exactly. Why would you lease a space that's going to not be available at some point and or have construction happening directly over the top of it.Chris Stritzel wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 8:04 pm I think it’s best to wait a little bit longer since 5 Light could go at the Strata site and who knows what a vertical project of many floors would do to businesses.

Space is too big and it's a pad site. Build-out will be 2 million+. That's going to take an ideal tenant to get done.

The food quality 100% changes from location to location. Also an occasional burger or chicken sandwich isn't that unhealthy. I don't drink soda and rarely get fries which is most of the calories and junk of a fast food meal.DColeKC wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 10:05 amYou seem to be confusing a meal with desserts. Even though I'm extremely unhealthy in your mind, I'd never order a 1500 calorie shake. If I go to dairy Queen, I get the mini blizzard and only eat half and give half to my daughter. American sizes are freaking stupid.

The worst Burger King experience I ever had in KCMO was the one that used to be near the intersection of Troost and Cleaver. It's been torn down since.dnweava wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 10:35 am
It was cold, inedible, and poorly-assembled. I returned to the counter and asked for another one since it was so bad. Five minutes later I was presented with another one just as bad. I returned to the counter and asked for my money back. It's the only time I've ever done that. It was apparent none of the workers cared about the product or customer experience.
