Better weather, no income taxes, better K-12 (in some areas), massively better universities, unified business communities, etc
Southeast and west are exploding

Regionally, I’m very interested in how Kansas politics is impacted by the Northeast being the one corner of the state growing significantly

Really seems to be particularly hard on rural counties vs more urban/suburban areas

Nice to see KC have the better looking growing circles in all of MO & KS. So that's something 8)

I think you see a lot of the places with mega blue circles just showing what has been true for the last 30yrs or so. A lot of the major cities in the Midwest grew slightly but the rustbelt cities, even Chicago are maybe dropped a little. I thinks it's because they already grew and really have established what they are and have a steady plateau of sorts. Not always true in places like Detroit that people left and are starting to come back but I think there is some of that. Where as places like Dallas, Houston, Austin, Denver, Atlanta, boomed and were poised to expand and grow.

Plus I think this shows a lot of growth in places like TX & FL and it has to do with very friendly business tax situations and no state income tax for residents. I believe TN (Nashville) also has these very friendly tax situations that drawn in businesses and allowed for some boom growth while things were cheaper, but even now while home prices and cost of living has increased in those areas the wages have held serve with the growth.

I think if KC and MO in general really wants to grow they need to adopt similar legislation. It seems the elected officials in MO that have the political control are way more interested in fighting the "ghosts of wokeness" and back mostly unpopular social issues and demonizing corporations and the inhabitants of Urban, Metropolitan, areas of the state. It would be nice to see our elected officials looking at ways to move MO forward and invest time, energy, and money into bringing in businesses/corporations, providing meaning help for start ups and small business to help them grown and become the next big thing possibly. Investments in higher education and also research and sciences and the businesses around them would be nice. But really make an effort to improve the state by moving forward instead of trying to revert us back to the 1950's. The rest of the world is moving forward fast and we have an opportunity to climb aboard the train, if not we will be left behind. The calculus is super simple.

TN, TX, WA, GA all no state income tax I believe.

Missouri could consider a “resident income tax rebate” of 100% if they wanted to compete on that front but not subsidize the KS and Illinois suburbs.
