I think the Mayor said they had a plan to help relieve that number, maybe sharing resources so the PD isn't their own 911?

anecdotally it seems like KCPD has increased visibility in BKS after all this. Seeing a KCPD SWAT operation at 5pm yesterday at the McD's at 63/Troost - social media commenters says KCPD arrested an individual with a connection to a homicide. also the Childrens Place building which is under renovation was broken into on Mon evening and it sounds like KCPD responded immediately. I also saw a KCPD vehicle ostensibly patrolling around the BKS shops last night at 9pm which I honestly am not sure I have ever seen before. I see KCPD vehicles responding with lights/sirens to incidents but i don't see them patrolling around, ever (again, anecdotally).

Sounds good. Hope they keep it up and start patrolling the other areas of the city soon!

"Graves also confirmed that Brady's vehicle, a Hyundai, was stolen from the restaurant lot just 34 hours after the shooting. It was recovered later Friday and the theft is being investigated, said Captain Jake Becchina, a police spokesman."

Just awful.

The failure and slippage starts with the PD and their decision to act as the decider of the entire justice process when they pout and don't come out to protect and serve their citizens.
Good luck even getting through to 911
Also an area KCPD is failing us

Due to an increase in crime due to an increase in criminals on the streets due to a lack of prosecution.. and on and on. It's all cyclical unless someone breaks the cycle.

I believe it is the trolley trail portion passing through the parking lots/shops today and how they plan to keep it connected while keeping parking, etc

Did that lawyer lady who built out onto the trail end up removing her sheds?

You're referring to 6209 Brookside Blvd and good old rotten Sherry Dejanes. Yes. She was finally forced to remove her illegal seizure of public lands around 2021. If you want to see how truly egregious her taking was, go look at the timeline of aerial views in the parcel viewer, or on Google Earth. It was unreal. Total malice.

Brookside couple envisions upscale neighborhood escape in former Michael Forbes spot
...
After a light remodeling, Hannah Koenig and Avery Bailey plan to open CRU in late January or early February at 128 W. 63rd St., the former space of the Michael Forbes Bar and Grille, which closed June 30 after more than a dozen years.
...
CRU’s dining room will seat about 80 people, the couple said. The bar, on the eastern end of the space, a few steps up from the dining room, also has its own entrance. A retail area is planned, along with a private dining space seating 12 to 16 people. Reservations will open about a month before the space’s debut.
