Agreed with comment this town is a town that overwhelming supports winners & the new flavor to show up in the sports landscape. Look at Sportings struggles running in tandem with them not winning. Current most likely will lag once they start to not win, but they’ll have a few years of newness to buffer them

"Always" extends an awful long time before you were around to form opinions on the topic, and after all your opinions have been forgotten.

Most certainly was not true in the 80's.

The Royals are playing in front of 48k in Denver (who has won only 30 games).

Baseball may be dying in KC, but it's NOT dying in general like so many people say.

Bullshit. I watched that game. There weren't 30K people there, much less 50. They must have let the Trump campaign do the crowd count.

Denver is an extremely liberal city. The kind of which Trump and others accuse of not being able to count properly...

Only fair to point out since you want to bring politics into it.

I watched the game. Full house, and a sell-out, so doesn't really matter how many showed up, but the place was full. Benefit of having a downtown stadium with a massive amount of residents nearby.

Looking at the attendance so far, it doesn't really matter if a stadium is downtown or not: https://www.espn.com/mlb/attendance

So in Denver's case, it probably helps to have 1.3 million more people in your MSA than KC has.

However, I still think the Royals would benefit from a downtown ballpark just by walkability alone. Not to mention other factors.
KC is the way to be!

Royals have a double-header today with the Cardinals. They won the first game giving them the 50th win of the season. Last season, they achieved this on September 19th.

Bobby Witt was a lot of fun to watch in the Home Run Derby last night. It's not an event I usually watch but he was great.

Yes, Bobby did great. Was awesome to see him get the spotlight on the national stage and show off what a great player he is. Plus never hurts to see the Royals & KC getting to share some of that attention too 8)
