Wouldn't this be a site that gets torn down if the Royals do a Crossroads stadium?

All, I apologize. The correct address is 1513 Oak, a 3-story building. This building.

I'm 99% sure they'll choose East Village over the East Crossroads. East Crossroads has too many separate parcel owners. East Village is mostly under the control of like one or two entities.

Seems like 1519 Main St caught fire on Sunday afternoon, and was torn down on Monday morning.

Fun seeing these pool halls open downtown. Really like the Chartreuse Saloon - excited to try this one out too

When I was a kid, almost every small town had a pool hall.

the pool space at the belfry has been basically ready for months. it looks awesome. they've always staffed pretty leanly so interested in how they'll handle all the extra sqft through the same kitchen/bar. we got a lil' guy in tow now so we visit at weird enough hours we probably won't get a good feel for how that's going.

i don't think the timeline reported in that article is accurate... i thought the building went under contract right around when covid hit, approx 1Q 2020. somewhere on this board we were talking about the proposal to go vertical on the lot to add apartments and i thought that had steam until covid seemed like it was hanging around. the article makes it sound like the building was sold last year which doesn't match my memory there. but who knows. also, who cares. just me probably.

Looks like Community Grocers is coming back, with some pretty neat technology.

I've used this technology at Love Field and Midway. It's neat and pretty easy! At first the Love Field one only allowed a certain number of people in, but it seemed to be running more smoothly the last time I used it.

Either way, looking forward to having another grocery store downtown. How was it shopping here the first time around?

https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/ ... wered.html
After shuttering in May to install two new payment methods developed by Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN), Community Groceries will reopen on Friday at 640 E. 18th St.

The "Just Walk Out" system allows customers to insert a credit card upon entry, collect their goods and walk out of the store without waiting in line to check out. The technology uses computer vision and sensors to tell which customers took what and bills them accordingly.

Checked out the new pool room while obtaining my chicken/biscuit fix, very nice.

Work going on downstairs as well.

Always blown away that we can still find a seat at this place.

Savoy Tea shop is now open in Arterra/Crossroads

stopped by, although not a huge tea fan. They have a huge selection but too bad the place feels sterile, I think they would have been better served making it feel like a coffee shop and less like a franchise retail store.

Should’ve made it like an old fashioned tea shop, would’ve been much more unique for KC, comfy, and would be instagrammable

Between this, Brick River Cider opening and Grand Place getting started, this little piece of the Crossroads is having a nice end to 2022
