Yes the product that is played is entertaining, the other 95% the nonstop talk about the product, the draft, the business side of it is not entertaining and overbearing on the overall scope of sports. That is the part I'm talking about not the product that is played

They're genius level marketers and operators. MLB disappears for nearly 5 months, 30 seconds after the last out in the World Series. People care for opening day and the first few weeks, then fall off until the playoffs.

NFL lays out their year so they're never off the radar. They have the perfect calendar and setup.

It's debatable what is the "greatest". I think there is definitely a feedback cycle created here largely due to great marketing by the NFL (and the gambling industry). They create an environment where the sport is talked about year round which draws more attention to the league, which makes the games bigger events, which leads to more coverage and attention... and the feedback cycle of hype continues.

People in KC should have no doubt of the social bandwagon effect in sports - just look at the Royals in 2014 and 2015. Relatively few people cared about baseball in this town and then all of the sudden, people were decked in Royals gear who hadn't watched a game in the last 30 years. Baseball was suddenly all anyone talked about so people had to take notice. This is the environment the NFL has created and it's not all about the product.

I was pushing back against the most followed and watched terminology which is just demonstrably not true.

The nfl does a fantastic job though and no one can doubt they’re dominating the us (which is a very important market to dominate).

"Biggest league" is tricky. By game attendance, it's MLB by miles. If you go by the biggest sport, it's Soccer followed closely by Cricket. If you go on value it's

Several of the teams will have one or more of their draft picks announced from cities in those countries this year. Curious why the Chiefs chose Germany, especially since it doesn't appear exclusive and other teams are listed for Germany. No one is listed for France. Perhaps an African country would have made sense with a Nigerian Nightmare tie in.

Nope, first regular season game in Germany was Sunday. Munich airport had an ad for the Chiefs coming next season, expected to be one of the KC home games there.

The international thing is weird but smart on Chiefs to nail Germany & Mexico.
