The former. Airline industry is getting wrecked right now, even after the bailouts. Record profits at least......

JetBlue starts tomorrow. I looked at some seat maps for the first few days. They look really empty. Hopefully they can get some momentum going with some news of them starting flights. I figured they would be doing better though. But at least they are here. I’m excited.

I’m betting once the mask mandate is lifted by the TSA you’ll see demand have a quick jump. The amount of people I’ve heard who have said they’re avoiding flying because of it is annoyingly insane.

Demand doesn’t seem to be a problem in most cases. Prices are crazy high. It’s lack of staff to add more flights to meet it.

I was poking around just for kicks and JetBlue has nonstops from KC to JFK, at least in November, on the A220.

JFK and BOS were both announced for the A220 about a year ago. New routes could conceivably include Florida, Caribbean, or LA.

The JFK flights are timed to connect to JetBlues London service.

My bad, I couldn't recall if I had seen JFK announced with BOS. I'm not sure it's better for visiting Manhattan but it would/will be good for late day international connections with a 2:00 scheduled landing.

I did see a $700 roundtrip to Tokyo yesterday on an airline called Zipair. I wonder if a strengthening dollar value will drop prices as well.

I like JetBlue. Flew on them from DC to Miami recently and was happy with the way things went. Appreciated the free Wi-Fi and good selection of shows on the TVs. Would definitely fly them more in the future if they went to more places than NY and Boston from KC.

Delta added N/S to JFK starting on 6/6. Likely a direct response to B6.

JetBlue bid to buy Spirit. Would add 310 Arbus planes to the JetBlue fleet. This would grow JetBlue solidly into a place where they need a mid-continent hub.

So does that mean that if this goes through, the JetBlue experience will replace the Spirit experience? Or does this mean JetBlue will launch a new, ultra low-cost option?

Did the Frontier merger fall through?

Both are on the table. JetBlue’s offer is much higher
