Embarrassing. The legacy of this team ended today. Yes a nice run but not a great or "dynasty" team that many hoped it would be. 3 of the greatest players at their positions was magical.
This is pretty much true, unfortunately. When you have this much talent on a team, winning 1 ring is a low bar.
2 rings would've been fitting. They were capable of 3-4 though going back since Mahomes rookie season. 1 means you fell short.

Yeah, kind of like when Tom Brady blew a 21-6 halftime lead over the Colts in the 2006 AFC Championship. Of course, he just faded in obscurity. Wonder where he is now?

Tom Brady had already won 3 Super Bowls at that point. Mahomes has won 1.
Andy Reid may be a great coach Monday through Friday, but on gameday he's a liability. Week after week the Chiefs build a comfortable lead and then completely stop scoring points. The only way we managed to win a Super Bowl was to fall behind in every single game. People overlook a lot of stuff because more often than not the Chiefs find a way to win games in the end, but Reid's playcalling is consistently dubious. It's just that now he has a QB who can bail him out of trouble more often than before.

So, 2 Super Bowl wins you'd be satisfied with?
Yes. The Chiefs went 50 years without winning a Super Bowl. I will happily take winning 2 in 20 years.
Would winning 2 in 20 years be ideal for the talent of Mahomes? No. But it would be more than Aaron Rodgers (currently) and most fans bases would love to win a Super Bowl once a decade.

^That's still underperforming.
By what standard?
By the standard that you have maybe the best QB ever. With a great coach and supporting staff. Mahomes has broken every passing record up to his age by ALOT at this point.
Mahomes seems to be following a career path of Russel Wilson. Dynasty type team that only won a single super bowl, after dynasty team they just kind of fizzle out and don't do much after but are still solid.

LOL, one overtime away from third straight Super Bowl. Fizzle!

I can't read this thread without my head wanting to explode. There is nothing to worry about here. Just calm down.
The thing is though that the AFC has gotten way better. In 2018 it was basically just Mahomes and Brady. Josh Allen was not a thing, Burrow and Herbert were still in college, Lamar Jackson and Mayfield are still decent and can compete. The jury is still out on Mac Jones, Trevor Lawrence and Tua and u still have Watson in the AFC. The AFC is absolutely loaded at QB for a long long time. The NFC future at QB is Dak and Kyler Murray. If KC was in the NFC I would calm down but the AFC is scary stacked
