Why are the Comets playing at TMO? Aren't they housed out in Independence?

Cable Dahmer Arena has the Mavericks the 22nd of January so looks like the Comets will play a game at T-Mobile.

kind of embarrassing. The suburb tiny arena has scheduling conflicts so they move to the big boy arena?

They’ve always scheduled a few games at T-mobile similar to how KU always plays a game at T-mobile instead of their tiny arena in Lawrence.

Nothing out of the norm at all.

I wouldn’t call Allen Field House small- it holds over 14,000 people. KU BB looks really good for this season with high early season rankings and an over abundance of talent-more like the kind of BB team that we Jayhawks have been blessed with for many seasons. KU regularly has games at T- Mobile to recognize and nurture the largest college alumni group in the metro- and maybe make some additional money! Lawrence/Douglas County isn’t in the official metro statistical area but is included in the combined metro statistical area.

I wasn’t digging on AFH. One of the best college basketball venues in the country. Top 4.

I’m not a KU fan but appreciate their basketball program.

@normalthings - any permits pulled lately for T-Mobile Center? Some window work being done and a crane onsite. They are upgrading LED screens finally but I’m not sure this is related.

Here's my approach on art. I don't like it all but i respect the artist and their effort. Maybe it's not your thing but why want it taken down?

My biggest complaint is that the plaza surrounding the art felt very slapdash and the water without a fountain seems unnecessary.

I wouldn't mind some lighting or video screens integrated into or visible behind the glass panels - maybe something similar to Allianz stadium in Munich. As is typical with design proposals, the finished product was a bit underwhelming from what was 'promised' during the initial competition.

that was the plan in the early renderings. Much more doable/affordable now I'd guess
