Is every future Cordish building in KC under protection from that 'affordable housing city ordinance' because of the guidelines they signed for incentives like 12 years ago?

Nothing to see yet. Bare concrete columns for the first floor are all that's up. Still.

I wonder if we’ll have a few floors off the ground by the time of the Big 12 tournament in mid-March.

I think so. Pending weather may even be wrapping up parking garage structure pours at that point.

Any reason given for slow progress so far? Only see a small handful of works on site at any given time

I believe they are on schedule but structural concrete needs time to cure before adding more weight. 7 days to be at 70% strength.

1 floor per week is the norm. Structural concrete does not appear to have progressed in 1 month but I haven't paid extreme attention to it.

^^ True. Slow on the installation of "slip" forms (climbing forms) .. ..And bad weather. Add a failed slump test..

What bad weather? It hasn't snowed the entire winter and it's barely been cold any days in December. The project should be. moving fast over this.

Cranes + giant metal forms + wind = bad news. Empire State Building took 13 months to build because no one cared about safety. Workers dying were a part of the gig but we’ve obviously decided to value human life, so that means safety first and foremost.

Empire State was/is steel framed, so could go up faster than concrete.

Ok then I would’ve just said “the wind” not “the weather” because that’s a bit confusing

True but the 3400 workers and utter disregard for safety allowed them to work at a 4.5 floors/week pace. Unheard of these days even with steel built.
