That seems to make a whole lot of sense. Beer Garden could be located between the stage and sand courts. Only issue is that this would block you from using the old road ROW to reach Isle of Capri without having to traverse the interchange.

Isle of Capri is moving quickly. Port KC reporting that they are in weekly discussions with Port KC and KCMO. Owner is doing very well financially.

I'd think in order to get this done, it would take 50 million or more and obviously you'd need Live Nation or AEG onboard as the operator.

I see that this one in New York came in around $50 million. Seems like it is a lot fancier than anything I had envisioned for the river.

Starlight - 8000
Berkley Riverfront Amp - 14,000 - 20,000 depending on how much of the grass area you keep for spectators.

Casino should love this location considering they could generate parking revenue and guests before and after the show.
Room for additional parking in the park.
Facilities could be shared with VB courts including bathrooms and a bar/restaurant.
Stage faces towards the interstate and industrial areas, so no major noise issues.
Could be designed to be open to the public when not in use. The stage would seal up, but the audience area and green space would be wide open.

There would be a major low frequency noise issue for the apartments nearby unless mitigate properly.

Would love to see a regualtion Cricket pitch with a ampitheater attached. It would easily fit in that space.

Building a Cricket pitch may sound like a stupid thing to hope for, but that's because it is a stupid thing to hope for.

But I like Cricket, it's the second most popular sport in the world, and Major League Cricket is starting in the US next year.

50 million is what it would take to build a truly state of the art facility. Ascend Amphitheater cost 50 million and it’s only 6500 capacity I believe. If we do it, we need to make it a top level facility that will remain busy and take some shows from the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in STL. Top of the line backstage amenities for artists, the latest rigging and structural setups to facilitate and and all touring acts. VIP areas and the most goes on.

True and I think a top of the line modern sound system would need to be installed compared to allowing tours to bring their own. A few companies make some unbelievable sound systems with rear and side noise canceling technology to cut noise pollution to a minimum.

I don’t know a lot about this area. Why is it not good enough to just poach shows from the Kansas place? I would think better location + more accessible + new would be an easy win.

I am kind of thinking that this could be a good fit for the KCATA bus barn on 18th. It would fuel the existing bar scene at 18th Vine and Power and Light

There are some big tours that are going to play only STL or KC during a summer shed tour. A few will hit both cities but the Denver>KC>STL>Chicago run is rare. The proximity between KC and STL Is just enough to make promoters nervous.

I prefer the river location due to it being the easiest situation to avoid noise complaints and proximity to the interstate. Anything near downtown KC is better than anything in Bonner Springs or the Legends.

There's dozens of amphitheater projects proposed per year, it's part of the draw argument tons of KS projects make for Star Bonds, and none of them drive people like they claim. I really don't understand the interest in adding yet another one to the city that's going to sit empty 90%+ of the year, especially in a prime spot.

Like I said, there’s ways to build it to where it’s open to the public as green space and a park when not in use. The old style closed off amphitheater is out. I’d also argue that next to a major interstate isn’t a prime location for many options.

I’m confident it would drive people and tax revenue.

I really don’t understand the letting KCK get another win by building a amphitheater in the legends which isn’t a convenient location for 90% of the metro.

Yes, but woman's soccer wouldn't be much different than that. The stands would be small compared to other stadiums and could be used for the amphitheater as well.

Put stands on the east side of this and you'd be set.

What was their average attendance the first time they were here? MLS isn’t a profit making endeveour so any women’s stadium will require even higher levels of incentives. Sporting KC is one of few profitable teams with $1 million income. Probably would be a loss if not for Cerner events at their stadium.

Wish people would not misuse the word "amphitheater." So many seem to think the "amphi" must mean open air. The Roman Colosseum was the Flavian Amphitheater. Arrowhead Stadium is an amphitheater.
