Re: Union Station
With the renovation of Troost and closing of Cinemark on the Plaza maybe its time to renovate and expand the Strand into a legitimate cinema al la Screenland Armour.

The glass teeth have been removed from the front canopies, and a "construction survey" is being done on the east side.

Do we know what type of work they’re planning on doing? Is it mostly restoration/repair type?TheLastGentleman wrote: ↑Wed May 27, 2020 11:58 pm The glass teeth have been removed from the front canopies, and a "construction survey" is being done on the east side.

I took a video while wondering around. There seem to be no more than 15 people in the building at any given time.

Thanks for the walk-through, sir. I appreciate this and your other photographs of Downtown Kansas City elsewhere in the forum.TheLastGentleman wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 5:25 pm I took a video while wondering around. There seem to be no more than 15 people in the building at any given time.

Re: Union Station
I was told that these fences were to keep the homeless from using the building as a bathroom at the (previous) height of COVID when everything was closed. I have not made note recently of whether the fencing is still in placeAnthony_Hugo98 wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 1:42 amDo we know what type of work they’re planning on doing? Re: Union Station
That would be a very expensive solution if rue, so I'm guessing it is not.

Yeah, that’s true. Will probably take the place of the dinosaur exhibit. Wouldn’t have any connection to science and Science City.flyingember wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 8:52 am Inside Science City? That's probably going to be in the basement space they put exhibits in

The kc gift shop in union station is now a rally house, and they stripped out all the old shelves, which were originals as far as I can tell :(
