It could become a nice tall skinny high rise in the future, it doesn’t look too bad though

I've been told the reason for it staying is because it's part of the kitchen for the Marriott. Not sure how that works.

I was told this project was getting rid of their main kitchen but that was awhile ago and I'm not totally familar which specific building it was in. Could be it was worked out for them to keep it.

I haven't seen anything showing the Marriot kitchen staying. Would be interesting if they had it in the works before. I wonder where Marriot would move it to? Maybe with the Loew's new contract with the convention center, they don't need as big of a facility.

^It's better than boxy buildings. The bigger question... will this building still happen?

I suspect it’s this one

Ah, I forgot about that one, that makes the most sense. I got thrown off by the discussion of the Clubhouse building that preceded that post.

Demolition equipment has started to arrive on site. Equipment is owned by the same firm doing demo on the big I435 project.

Connector between the garage to be demoed and an adjacent garage has been torn down.

I like that this clearer rendering allows you to see some more detail in the materials on the building.

I look forward to seeing this go up.

Is it to have a shed roof or is that an illusion of forced perspective because that portion of the building starting at the SW corner is at an angle? I remember the renderings of the Fed Reserve gave an illusion of a slanted roof.

I'm pretty certain it's just an illusion of the rendering. Here's an elevation from earlier this year

Most definitely an illusion. You can make building features seem more exaggerated with a wide angle camera. If you have the iPhone 11 Pro, this exaggeration is possible by moving the camera around. It makes edges seem sharper and what not than they actually are.

Also, the same can be said about renderings we've seen for Strata and Waddell and Reed.

The site of the 13th and Wyandotte office building is now parking for the hotel, and all the construction fencing is gone. Not a great sign

I'm not too concerned about this. Most developers who proposed office space are probably waiting to see what the demand is like after coronavirus so they can do spec or are waiting on a tenant to sign on now.

Maybe it is best that Platform Ventures starts the renovation of the Muehlebach into apartments as "Phase 2" and building the office building as "Phase 3". Just switch up the order a bit.

It's interesting the equipment there to tear down that building went away. I thought they already had the permit to get that going. I noticed it went away a few weeks ago.
