... A part of the sculpture garden dedicated to memorials of the past would fit in.

Where the structure has no physical connection rename and re-associate, like the JC Nichols fountain.
Set aside some land for the memorials and call it "Racist Park."

Wouldn't the state legislature have to be involved in renaming a county? I can't imagine MoLeg would be in favor.

You could take a page from King County, Washington, and just pick a different Jackson to honor... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Coun ... n#Namesake

The politically correct name is "Heritage Park"

A Statue of a Slave Owning President Stands in the Heart of Kansas City

Mayor Quinton Lucas Calls Out Andrew Jackson

Last Friday, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas addressed a crowd from the steps of City Hall following a tumultuous week of global protests after Minneapolis police killed George Floyd.

“Look back at that building,” said Lucas, pointing at the Jackson County Courthouse. “Who stands in front of it? Andrew Jackson — a terrible president.”

Could have been much more of a problem. Harry Truman wanted the new courthouse designed with a giant equestrian Jackson on top of the building.

The Nichols family supports renaming the fountain. You’d think that would seal the deal.

The other option is don't support it and risk more riots, mayhem, destruction, and economic destruction.

I haven’t seen that much economic devastation, Why are we playing this so much when trump has put this entire countries economic livelihood at risk by not having a cohesive plan

Putting a name on the now former JC Nichols fountain will always be anachronistic due to any personal name not matching the subject matter of the sculptures. Depicted are four great rivers, none of which are the Missouri.
In ancient Egypt names of pharaohs were often changed on sculpture and monuments, one idealized representation being easily identified with another,
In imperial Rome names of out of favor people were changed on statues and very often the heads were replaced. Why not just attach a beard to Andy Jackson at the courthouse and call it John Brown? Shame to waste a perfectly good and expensive bronze.
