In March of this year, the planning commission approved this development, which consists of 4 buildings built out of 12 shipping containers. The buildings would be studio apartments of about 350SF. There will be 48 apartment units. Rent will range from $675-$750 a month.
The site is an undeveloped piece of land at 29th and Madison/29th and Belleview (or just Northwest of the Fox 4 studio). The developer is Syndicate Real Estate Development, an apparent start up development firm. Many of you who read this on the Westside Happenings thread knows this, but for those who don't know, it's good to know.
According to Syndicate's website, the project will cost $3.6 Million.
Here is the description from the developer...
Beautiful, eco-friendly and affordable. Introducing Kansas City's first multi-family housing project using recycled shipping containers. New-build and incentive-free, this development will bring 48 high-end studio apartments to the heart of Midtown.
