At least he was close.
Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You mean that the millions spent and all the hype claimed by the "Visitor's Bureau" about KCMO being the center of the whole world and even the president still thinks the town is in Kansas?
Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So other than fireworks still going off at 1am, I haven't heard about any crime from celebrations last night. Did I miss something?

Some people are so insular, self absorbed, arrogant and unwilling to learn, they can never be reached.

They said there were no major incidents - I was really preparing for riots like when the Bulls won in the 90's with Jordan

KC's troublemakers don't seem to be particularly vandalism oriented. Is why I don't think KC will have major vandalism issues if doing free fare bus, which was an issue with other cities that have tried free bus.brewcrew1000 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 12:26 pmThey said there were no major incidents - I was really preparing for riots like when the Bulls won in the 90's with Jordan

No Parking sign broken off in front of my place and bunch of women walking down from Martini Corner stopped to use overhang of garage entrance as their pissoir. Going to put some pitchers of water handy so on Wednesday can douse any such attempts.

Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like parade planners are planning for up to 1M to show up, which would be surprising and impressive given the snow and freezing conditions. Many who move to KC from winter cities complain about KC hibernating during the winter, not embracing it. Prove them wrong!
(Hypocritically, I don't embrace winter... still roaming Florida)

Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This could be a bigger disaster than the Royals Parade if a Million plus show up. The parade route looks smaller than last Parade. I really think this needs to be moved from the Plaza to Union Station, you can spread people all around the Urban Core, I don't think the city will be able to handle a million people in the downtown area
Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I worry about idiots suffering from exposure/frostbite.
Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The parade route is actually a bit longer this year - didn't it start within the loop last time? I think if there's any snow on the ground it will really impact how people are able to use the north lawn of Liberty Memorial for viewing.brewcrew1000 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 12:29 pm This could be a bigger disaster than the Royals Parade if a Million plus show up. I work at Hallmark and know of very few employees here who will be coming down since the company is encouraging work from home. After the Royals parade, some of my coworkers were stuck in the garage for 2 1/2 HOURS just trying to exit. This year they're opening one of two garages and a surface lot to the paying public. If the weather were nice I'd come down and then walk or take a scooter back to Midtown, steering clear this time.

Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Royals parade was surprisingly warm in November at 70 degrees and sunny. I don’t think we touch the same numbers.
Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m not a Chiefs fan but am planning to take my wife and teenaged son who are.
If attendance is anywhere near the Royals or Blues parades I’ve attended, it’s gonna be awesome. Conditions will not be for sissies or the faint of heart, that is for sure.
