Somewhat related but the city is spending $80,000 to engage the public on the Main Street water line relocation. This appears to be a huge waste

How is it a waste? We learned with the streetcar that good closure communication around a project that impacts movement for multiple miles of length is important.

The city will need to come through again in 2-5 years and do more closures for the streetcar so this is basically an introduction to that project and sets the tone for things to come.

Does it include a budget item that helps the affected businesses communicate that they are still open during construction? That would not be a waste.
