A bigger three light absolutely will delay four light. They've told us they won't start on it until three light reaches a certain leasing rate.

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
The hotel element of Four Light could change too if more hotel projects are firmed up before Four Light design finalizes. Even VisitKC representing convention biz thinks downtown is getting too many hotel rooms at this point.
Methinks any hotel project going forward should be a residential/hotel combo. The hotel operations/services could be sustained by the residential aspect during down periods.

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
I’m sure Cordish is in no hurry to move four light through the approval process given the current attitude toward downtown development

I think this is for the build out of the Spark co-working space in Two Light. I'm not 100% on this, but I don't think it has ever opened.normalthings wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 3:03 pm Anyone know what this could be for?

Hotel Karaoke is transitioning to a private event space and will no longer be open to the public.

wow. a carbon copy of offkey would have made it there even at p&L prices
Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
For now.... Kill Devil couldn't get it's legs because it was constantly being rented out by people who rented out the event space. So, it never had consistent open hours to the public which is a damn shame because I loved the vibe of the place. Karaoke in my opinion is over saturated with every local bar having a "karaoke" night. If you're like me, I'm not going to hang out in a place with piss poor signing taking place in the background.KCPowercat wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 1:59 pm So gallery, kill devil, hotel are all private event spaces now?
There's a cool plan coming for the hotel space, but there's no rush to get it done. The biggest demand for the space has been private event clients, so that's what it will be for now.

Yeah i loved kill devil.
Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
Ghost town around the district these days. No surprise, but hourly staff has been laid off with two weeks pay and will have jobs waiting when this opens back up. I don't see Flying Saucer opening back up sadly.
Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
they better give me my plate then
Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
i have a hard time believing saucer's concept or decor are dealbreakers when we've heard it on good authority that goddamn pizza bar is raking it in.
Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
Can we take out the patio so that sidewalk is passable again? It is way to narrow for the amount of foot traffic in the area (COVID notwithstanding).
Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
It's pizza.... Not to hard to do, especially when you're pumping out $3 slices all night long and the profit margin on pizza is ridiculous. Flying Saucer (nationwide) hasn't kept up with the times sadly.
Pizza bar can not out 20k worth of pizza orders on a concert night no problem. Add in the alcohol sales and it's a winning combo. Pizza bar has always had a dive type vibe which I think works well for it.
