Not as boring as the place they're building it - south of 435.

This is the dumbest location ever for a hard rock hotel. Amazing what star bonds can buy.

Dumb is right! I can't wait for another thing to be built that I will never visit or see.

Will this be a Hotel plus Casino? If so, what has happened to the existing casino at the Legends?

Are Hard Rock hotels typically suburban? I know the one that collapsed in New Orleans was not.

It's not a place I would ever visit in the first place but it seems they are a bit behind the times with respect to the Legends. That place already seems to be losing what little luster it ever had in the first place.

Hard Rock's in general are garbage minus Vegas and Cancun. I have never been impressed with the food or decor.

Surprisingly the one in Venice was quite an enjoyable experience, obviously featured a drastically different menu from most North American locations. All together though I was impressed with the visit.

Hollywood Casino is still there. Not sure how it's doing. I think it's still considered the nicest/newest casino in the metro. For whatever that's worth. This Hard Rock will not be a casino. But, it will have a rooftop bar - so there's that.

Can't wait for the "Hard Rock Cafe - Edwardsville, KS" shirts. Will be dope.

I'm not a huge Hard Rock fan, but seems to me it's a wasted opportunity to not build this on the Hollywood property or (even better) as part of an Isle of Capri reboot. At one point Hollywood was paying an annual fee to the State of Kansas for not having a hotel/conference center on site - is that still the case?

At one point the Hard Rock entity was split between different factions and I believe the cafes were separate from the casinos and hotels. Given the recent closing of several locations (St Louis, Louisville, Indy), I wonder if the company is still making poor growth decisions.

This pretty much confirms the project as dead.

What’re the chances another group takes this concept and runs with it?

I’d say the chance is zero. I guess nothing is zero, especially with legal sports wagering in KS now might attract another casino group. Maybe Edwardsville has leaders who want it back. But my guess it’s gone or best case shelved for 3-5 yrs.

Shame we have projects dotted all over the metro that worked with shitty/shady ass lenders. I’m not sure if it common and or developers were just looking to fleece what they thought were “simple folk” from backwater KC

Well look at the location. The view would have been the turnpike, the speedway and farms. I never understood why this project was real from the start.

Hard Rock has had a long-standing interest in that area. IMHO Legends Audience and the Hard Rock Brand go hand in hand.
