We are close to the top. However, I think STL would be the largest in terms of metro population or ppdew without direct service. We do have a bigger catchment area than STL though.beautyfromashes wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 7:40 pmI guess we’re the largest without one now.
There are also a number of smaller cities with direct service as well.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
I’ve had so many friends take a flight through or to Iceland the last two years. Were our numbers not great or is this a reflection on the airline and Max issues? Perhaps, this will further help get a direct flight to a mainland Europe destination now. Less competition.

I’d guess we don’t get any TransAtlantic flights until the the new terminal opens

Which US cities without hub have direct OVERSEAS international flights? KC has direct flights to Toronto, Cancun and I think Dominican Republic.

All of those cities have overseas flights, even Cincinnati. The Cincy to CDG flight is kind of a legacy from when it was a Delta hub. flightsfrom.comnomadcowatbk wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 7:25 amLas Vegas? Orlando? Cincinnati? Austin?
My hope is that upon completion of the new terminal and return of the MAX, the Aviation Department will look again at overseas flight.

Yes, was listing non-hub airports with a N/S to Europe/Asia.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
Yes, but our current setup doesn't even have a legitimate customs function. That has been a stated, real life example of a barrier the aviation department cited as to why a carrier passed at adding an international flight to KCI. Removing that hurdle can only help.

Alaska Airlines added a third frequency to SEA starting in May/June. 2/X on a 737 and 1/X on a E175.

^Possibly because KC business ties to Seattle are increasing and will of course boost further if Sprint/TMO merger approved...

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments
Justin Meyer said on Twitter that he’s back in Europe today. This comes after multiple big international trips last month to conferences/airline visits. Hopefully something is in the works.kboish wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 4:57 pm Apparently Iceland Air has dropped KCI
