Does anyone know if this project is still being discussed this week for TIF consideration?
Public Hearing at 10am

Recommended Action: Approval of the plan and forwarding to City Council, Recommending Do Pass to the city council, etc

IMHO: They should not take Hotel Bravo up until after the election. The proposed use of TIF, Super TIF, and CID to cover more than 40% of the project cost will not look good to voters next week.
Collisson stated via the Twitters that this vote was delayed until July.
The meeting was today. Anyone know what the outcome is?

Does the developer really think they have a better chance with the new council?

A new boutique hotel will add 150 rooms to Kansas City’s thriving performing arts district. Located directly east of the arts-themed Civic Lawn and facing the iconic Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, Hotel Bravo will serve Kansas City locals and visitors with entertaining amenities and convenient access to some of downtown’s most prominent cultural assets.
A formal lawn with water feature will greet guests at the hotel’s entrance on Wyandotte Street, planting itself in the district’s cultural atmosphere; a raised plinth will offer dramatic views. A planned pedestrian grand staircase will link the porto cochere to a plaza directly east of the hotel, fronting West Baltimore Street.

The hotel’s first level offers registration, concierge, meeting rooms, and a welcoming piano bar and lounge, plus back-of-house functions; a fitness room is available on the mezzanine level. A fine-dining restaurant at street level offers frontage along Wyandotte Street; a bar and lounge accessible off the lobby offers additional outdoor dining and bar service overlooking the formal lawn. A hammered copper exterior finish adds sophistication to this prime dining location.

Guest room floors include day-lit wide corridors and cozy lounges with fireplaces that offer close-up views of the Kauffman Center. Included in the guest tower is a combination of 400 sf king and double-queen rooms, two-room suites, and the exclusive Kauffman Suite, offering generous views, an adjoining king guest room, and private entrance. The 12th floor also offers a public bar and lounge with panoramic views and a reflecting pool.
Updated project description.

Please tell me that's not referring to the north half of the lot

This project was up before TIF again today. I assume it was delayed again?

Update: No resolution was made today in regards to the project.

$63M downtown luxury hotel wins another delay
Developers of a proposed $63 million luxury hotel were given an additional extension by a Kansas City incentive-granting body on Wednesday.

The Tax Increment Financing Commission of Kansas City voted to delay the measure after the developer’s attorney requested more time, citing conversations with new Mayor Quinton Lucas, who asked the developers to refine their numbers and see whether they can find more money to allocate to affected taxing jurisdictions.
...
The TIF Commission granted the request, and the item will be heard again at the September meeting.

Hotel Bravo will be back before TIF tomorrow.

Action recommended: CONTINUING THE PUBLIC HEARING.

Does anyone know what the final outcome from the public hearing was last night or it just another delay?

Downtown KC website has the project pegged at 250 rooms on their spread sheet of projects.

This quote is from a recently released streetcar development map:
Hilton Bravo Hotel - Planned - Site slated for a new construction, 300-room hotel.

Well seems like the project is delayed again.

Here's a brief excerpt from the Kansas City Business Journal article just released an hour ago.
The delay granted Wednesday reflected a compromise: The developers get an additional two weeks before a vote, and that gives TIF Commission staff time to do additional evaluation on the revised plan. The delay also came with a request from the commission that the developer meet collectively with the taxing jurisdictions.
I'd like to see this project go through but it seems like the developer is facing an uphill battle.

They should just stop asking for TIF. If the commissioners approved it, they'd be fired by the Mayor.

Yes, but they were also asked if they were interested in continuing to serve should the Mayor choose to reappoint them.

If they finally reject this, does it get built anyway?

Would they build something smaller without incentives, or will it just revert back to an empty lot. How does everyone feel about this project incentives wise. Im not aware of if it is reasonable or not
