I don't even want to know their reasons for voting no. I mean I do but I don't.

We are doing environmental right now.beautyfromashes wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 6:33 pm I’ve been noticing what seems to be crews taking core samples on Main in Midtown. Related to planning for streetcar or some other non related project?

Being physically present to vote is so dumb in government.

I agree, but I can't imagine they'll voluntarily change it so that they are forced to have a record that can be used against them.

I wouldn't want someone to get voted onto the council and then effectively move away. Ex, they keep a home in Virginia and have a token address in KC.KCPowercat wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 7:03 am Being physically present to vote is so dumb in government.
I can see allowing proxy voting where your proxy must show up and you must not have been out of town longer than X number of weeks

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
Thanks for the link Dave! With the expanded VMF, would they do the northern expansion with the current building and tie the entire facility together? Or would it be an expansion east across Holmes near that brick building housing maximus signs?DaveKCMO wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 8:59 pmhttp://kcstreetcar.org/wp-content/uploa ... .16.19.pdfAnthony_Hugo98 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 1:13 pm Has there been anything released on when the environmental will be complete?

To save someone the time of searching, he's referring to around file page 153. There's mockups of adding storage track and using the existing building for up to 15 trains (though the drawing looks to have 16) and one with an expanded building.Anthony_Hugo98 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 11:06 amThanks for the link Dave! What’s the timeline on submission for the Fed grant ? I remember reading somewhere that it was August, but I wasn’t sure if it was going to be the end of the month or not.

They're not submitting for a single grant.Anthony_Hugo98 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 10:07 pm What’s the timeline on submission for the Fed grant ? I remember reading somewhere that it was August, but I wasn’t sure if it was going to be the end of the month or not.
For example, this one is money locals split up while Tiger and the like are money DC employees split up. We got from both sources for the starter line.

Click the little arrows to view the projects
This site has public comments so if you see a project you support, fill out the form. You'll see many people it's two lines so if you don't big road projects will get the money since they make up the majority of submissions. Expand sections you might not otherwise, there's multiple groups supporting projects in the same location.

111 comments for adding a lane to an interstate. 8 comments for the long term (Core Wide) streetcar expansion.

I haven’t following for like the last 100 pages, but when are we supposed to get the trolley to go from Union Station to the Plaza? Assuming some time after 2030.

So if 2021 is the target for funding, late 2024 would be the earliest, possibly into 2025.

New Plaza Transit Center
39th and Main Station
39th and Main Station
If the Streetcar Authority receives its federal funding by early 2021, the project will be on track to be completed and running by late 2024.

Their map is once again showing the station at Linwood instead of 31st. Have they changed their mind again?

I like the Plaza center stop, but why can't the awnings be the entire length of the stop?
There's 16 seats total at what is going to be a major stop.

^Agree about full length awning. And nice to see a dedicated bus lane as well, making it essentially a small transit center.
