Any status on the following projects?
- Hotel project along Delaware
- The residential project in front of Chinatown Market along 3rd
- The residential project at NW corner of Delaware and 3rd
- Surface lot next to Minsky's
- Surface lots near Restaurant Supply
Of these, which has highest chance of moving forward the soonest?

My hunch is that the projects on the city-owned lots are caught up with financing (KC Commercial probably doesn't put their own capital into development projects). This might also affect the project on the Chinatown lot.
On the other hand, the guy who was developing on Delaware is on this board and can probably provide the best update.

No movement in the Legislature on moving the Steamboat Arabia Museum to Jefferson City.
Steamboat, Port Authority bills must wait until next year
http://www.newstribune.com/news/local/s ... ar/779468/Two proposals expected to impact the Jefferson City Area's economy — the Steamboat Legacy Fund and land for the Jefferson City port authority — didn't get much traction in this year's legislative session, and will have to be reintroduced next year.
...
Bernskoetter told the News Tribune: "The Steamboat Legacy Fund is going to be a tough one anyway, because the gambling people are against it.
"We didn't get any of the gaming bills done — and I think that was really our only vehicle" to get the plan debated.
Historian and former broadcaster Bob Priddy was the plan's main promoter.
He told the News Tribune last week: "We knew the odds were long to get approval of something this different, especially facing the formidable opposition of the casino industry.

I would say that most members of the general public who hear of this plan do not support it.Bernskoetter told the News Tribune: "The Steamboat Legacy Fund is going to be a tough one anyway, because the gambling people are against it.

I think the best chance they have to keep the Arabia museum in Kansas City is to talk one of the local casinos into making it an on-site attraction; or in Missouri, is to find some private developer in Branson who would include it in some attraction.

The loopnet page for the office building was recently updated. Supposedly a small first floor space and the second floor are all that are left leasable. Build year is 2020 now. Does anyone know what’s really going on with Delaware Landing and the Delaware office building?

Briarcliff’s Timber Tower proposal is dead. KCATA to release a new RFP for those site and two others.

Bundling the River Market property with the East Village and 31st/Troost properties is the wrong way to head IMO. The article quotes the director of ATA economic development as saying that the market and development have changed over the past four years (during the development phase of the River Market property), but bundling three disparate properties together seems logical? Troost and River Market are two of the hottest areas around.

That's such a prime spot they should go after big ticket national developers for a larger mixed use transit center project.

These properties represent seperate markets and individually would attract developers with different risk profiles.kcjak wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2019 8:14 am Bundling the River Market property with the East Village and 31st/Troost properties is the wrong way to head IMO.
