For moving from KCMO metro to Seattle metro - I think that would be an adjustment up... right? Or am I misreading this?

COL is about 50% higher in Seattle
They're saying they would expect to keep both offices and few people would move from KC to Seattle but would adjust up when they do.

Better buy it now before interest rates go up. And save a little money to enlarge the tiny walk-ins and replace the astroturf.
All this time, I've wondered why they routinely tack on unrelated charges to my bill and change my plan for no reason.

In case any of you have another $10MM to spare. I believe Masayoshi Son (CEO of Softbank) has also put his Mission Hills mansion up for sale. For your reference, it's next door to Claure's house.

Imagine being so rich you buy a mansion instead of paying for a hotel for one week out of the year.

it's going to be tough finding buyers for these homes in our market but then again these guys have deep pockets and could probably wait it out.

Wonder what is going to happen with Google Fi once these 2 merge since google fi works on the tmobile and sprint networks. Wonder if all 3 just form one company eventually. Google is starting to form what looks like a media giant similar to Comcast and Time Warner, they have youtube tv for live tv service, google fiber for internet, google fi for phone service, pixel for a specific phone.

Sprint/T-Mobile merger opponents now include 5 U.S. senators, California regulator
https://tinyurl.com/y92qpmveAs the $26.5 billion merger of Sprint Corp. and T-Mobile US Inc. labors toward a possible conclusion, it’s picked up new opponents: five U.S. senators and California’s Public Advocates Office.
The senators, all Democrats, sent a letter to the Senate Commerce Committee asking it to study the deal’s possible effects on consumer choice and wireless competition, FierceWireless reports. They point to the potential danger of “combining these two disruptors into one mega-company.”

The reasonable thing to do here would be to base approval off of whether Sprint can survive or not. Unfortunately, I don't think it can, so the government better be willing to bail Sprint out if it goes under. If they don't approve the deal, and Sprint goes under, we may be looking at a de facto duopoly.

Sprint/T-Mobile: Merger will deliver 1,000 new jobs to OP campus
https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/ ... j=86384561Pending the close of their proposed $26.5 billion merger, T-Mobile US Inc and Sprint Corp. announced the combined company will add five new customer experience centers throughout the U.S. Each center promises an average of 1,000 new jobs.
The companies have selected Sprint’s (NYSE: S) Overland Park headquarters as the first of the five new locations, and it will be "a new addition" to the existing campus, the companies said in a Wednesday release. It's unclear whether the center would be new construction or fill an existing building.
The Overland Park campus previously was announced as secondary headquarters for "New T-Mobile" and would house a variety of business support functions and teams. The primary headquarters post-merger would be in Bellevue, Wash., where T-Mobile (Nasdaq: TMUS) is based.

And three months later they will lay off 80% of those employees and close the OP campus.FangKC wrote: ↑Fri Feb 01, 2019 4:06 am Sprint/T-Mobile: Merger will deliver 1,000 new jobs to OP campus

Without deal, Sprint will be in 'jeopardy'
https://tinyurl.com/y3eg2nymSprint Corp. CEO Michel Combes sent a disquieting letter to Federal Communications Commission member Geoffrey Starks on Tuesday painting a dark picture for the financial future of the Overland Park-based carrier without its knight in shining armor, T-Mobile US Inc.
“Without the merger, the trajectory for Sprint will worsen and Sprint’s prospects will be limited,” Combes wrote in the letter. "Sprint will be forced to further reduce its operating expenses, which means more job reductions in Kansas City and throughout the company, and our future as a stand-alone company will be in jeopardy."
Combes looks back to 2010, when the wireless carrier had more than 43,000 employees. Sprint (NYSE: S) now has about 28,000, with many of those reductions affecting employees at the Overland Park headquarters.
"Sprint's future affects not just Sprint's employees but the entire Kansas City community," Combes wrote.
He details Sprint's painful cost cutting, rounds of layoffs, constant restructuring and absence of profit. Sprint is nearly $40 billion in debt and has a $2.8 billion negative cash flow.

Re: Sprint sale rumors again
If merger isn't approved perhaps the only eligible mega company that could take on Sprint's debt is Comcast/NBC/Universal. Sprint's 5G potential would allow Comcast to enter new markets as a home ISP. Softbank may dump Sprint cheap enough for Comcast to take interest. Possible but maybe not realistic. Potentially best case scenario for KC jobs.

Sound like Amazon is interested in buying Boost division of Sprint if merger approved, which under covers would be Sprint/TMO network. Seems more likely the Feds will approve merger if Amazon is in the mix even though not really a 4th competitor as number of physical network operators would reduce from 4 to 3.

Sprint closes deal to sell Overland Park campus
https://tinyurl.com/y526pkehA deal to sell the 17-building Sprint campus to Wichita-based Occidental Management has closed. The deal comes on the heels of speculation that the U.S. Department of Justice is close to a decision on the Overland Park-based wireless carrier's $26.5 billion merger with T-Mobile US Inc. (Nasdaq: TMUS).
...
The sale includes a sale-leaseback agreement with Sprint, which would continue to occupy a portion of the campus. As part of that deal, Sprint plans to consolidate its operations from 11 buildings to four. It's unclear what Occidental has planned for the rest of the space.

If this merger goes thru it leaves us with basically 4 left but the 4th is pretty small in US Cellular. Wonder if they would try to expand out this way if the merger happens. US Cell will eventually need to expand or merge
