IMHO. I think that our building looks quite a bit better than theirs.
Has there been any news on that ultra luxury hotel next to the Loews? Did the project end up dying? If so, I would love to see a Loews branded residences or second hotel tower there eventually.

Agreed. The base on theirs is too long. It looks like it isn't filling up its site well.normalthings wrote: ↑Sun Nov 11, 2018 9:28 pm IMHO. I think that our building looks quite a bit better than theirs.
Ours just looks more balanced. Personally, I'll take better architecture over height any day.

"Promised"Though these renderings presented to Council are rough sketches, Loews executive vice president Alex Tisch promised the hotel will be beautiful.

The meeting room wing is looking massive. Anyone know the floor heights of the ballrooms?

Elevations are on page 20
http://maps.kcmo.org/kcgis/rest/service ... ments/8008
The lower ballroom is up to 30 feet
The one above 35 or so
Depends on if there’s a false ceiling or not

Enjoyed fanily time downtown today and this project is moving along great. The look of the renderings for Memphis are way more disappointing than our Loews IMO.Leows just announced for Memphis. Only 500 rooms but still taller then ours

They're moving super fast on the room floors. Must want to get this space up quicker than the convention space.
I didn't count the floors this morning but they're at about 2/3 height on the main tower.

Guest tower is scheduled to top out in April. Parking/convention was scheduled to be framed out in November.

I counted the floors today. Looks like 9 more floors to go:flyingember wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 9:59 am They're moving super fast on the room floors. Must want to get this space up quicker than the convention space.

Can we incorporate that red stripe as an LED light band....that would be awesome.

I could see it popping up onto the skyline from 24th and Troost.

That glass looks very much like the glass in One & Two Light. Hope the masonry parts of the building give it a different look.

It’s hard to tell from the rendering, but there are two different colors of masonry. The north side is a dark slate and the south is a lighter tan. It gives the building two distinct feels, similar to the Arterra building further south. Crossroads is turning mullet.
