If nobody noticed there was a huge influx of "visitors" overnight and this morning that pushed our total online at once number very high as well as the number of users on today.
This was due to a web worm rolling around the net that actually came out about a week ago. Luckily we weren't affected because of the update I put in last month, but the worm kept trying to infect the site.
A fix has now been put in place so the false "guests" are now gone.

So now we can't get all excited about our "most concurrent user" numbers anymore, since it'll talk a long time to beat the inflated number.
What was the old record? Election day?

probably that worm hitting the ISP too hard.
I've put in the necessary code to just turn it away so it shouldn't affect performance.
