Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed
I'm told Bird has their business license and both Bird and Lime have received "interim operating agreements" from KCMO.

I really hope Jay Leno tries to do a burnout on a Lime scooter.

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed
How are neat locations determined? Seems they are all centralized into the financial district and p&l. Would think you'd get a lot of morning commuters if they out more nests in crossroads, QH, gsrment, Columbus park, river market.

Lime is launching in St. Louis this Friday, after Bird was booted: https://www.stltoday.com/business/local ... e4240.html

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed
Bird was supposed to launch more scooters this weekend, but was scrapped last minute. Will be happening soon though! On the bright side, they added more "nests" in the Quality Hill/Hospital Hill/39th/Broadway from Armour-43rd! I can see them adding around 50 more with this expansion, but still no nests directly in Westport or the Plaza.

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed
Looks like W Westport Rd from State Line to Beer Kitchen, Missie B's and also just S of Uptown now have morning Nest locations, no Plaza though.
Appears to be at the expense of downtown for now as city total is still about 100 until more added. Downtown looks to be more distributed though.
Will be interesting to see what LIme does. And will they do scooters only or bikes as well. Looks like in Austin Lime is scooters only. Bcycle needs to deploy electric assist bikes.

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed
How do we report a found bird that isn't on the map?

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed
More than likely dead (waiting for a charger) or marked for maintenance. So you shouldn't really do anything unless the "brain" is missing on top, in which case contact support ASAP.

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed
Yeah thought about that later because I've seen dead ones that are no longer on the map...so could have scanned it and checked that....but this one is buried in a parking garage made me think it was lost on purpose.

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed
Is also possible that someone still has a scooter checked out, either on hold or accidentally not fully returned back in. I once didn't return one in/locked fully and didn't realize until over 5 minutes later.

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed
^Not enough downtown on weekends. Not 2PM yet, not many left on map and many that are have low power. When Lime deploys...

The one i thought was lost is definitely lost....I'll haul it out to the curb and maybe a charger will find it.

Re: Bird Scooters Have Landed
These are more dangerous than I expected. I know they say not to go up hills, but I did, mea culpa, and I'm sure the driver behind me got a good laugh watching me try to peddle and steer and not fall over.
I wonder if they've ever thought about blocking off a block or two on a slow day to let people drive them for free and just get an idea on how they work.
