Omg what has this forum become.
I personally think we should just bulldoze all of downtown and put the world's biggest fucking IKEA. Can we talk about that for two pages now?

This wouldn't have taken off except for someone saying "bass pro types" don't come downtown.WoodDraw wrote:Omg what has this forum become.

It's because you guys are all getting eaten by trolls, and the moderators here have some dumb Reddit style moderating philosophy where it's okay to shit on the floor.
To each their own.
To each their own.

I think we all know that she is a troll. But it wouldn’t have taken off like it did until GRID’s comment.WoodDraw wrote:It's because you guys are all getting eaten by tolls, and the moderators here have some dumb Reddit style moderating philosophy where it's okay to shit on the floor.

It appears they are about to assemble the second crane as the red portable crane has reappeared on the upper level.

That red crane seems anything but portable. It is quite amazing how it gets around town.gfenn11 wrote:It appears they are about to assemble the second crane as the red portable crane has reappeared on the upper level.

It is quite amazing how they are able to put it together so quickly and efficiently!cityscape wrote:That red crane seems anything but portable. The truck drivers, crane assemblers and operators are probably all the best they can get. I would not be surprised if the lenders, insurance or such requires minimum experience for project crane operators, given the danger involved.gfenn11 wrote:It is quite amazing how they are able to put it together so quickly and efficiently!cityscape wrote:That red crane seems anything but portable. I wonder at what point we will begin to draw in outside construction talent.flyingember wrote:The truck drivers, crane assemblers and operators are probably all the best they can get. I would not be surprised if that has already happened in some specialties.

It's the obnoxiously huge size that gives impression Cordish is suggesting it's a primary KC identity.

I have no problem with that cowboy sign. Why couldn't they do that in KC? The gigantic one towering over the Live area is hideous though. It looks like the main sign for the ENTIRE district, not just one bar.StrangerThings wrote:Wow. STILL bitching about the cowboy and cowgirl sign? It has 100% nothing to do with any type of Kansas City history. PBR Big Sky is a partnership between Cordish and The Professional Bull Riders Association. It was put there to draw attention to the venue and it looks like it works fairly well. This location was the first one, there are now several across the country and it's a insanely popular and profitable concept. Sure, a cool neon sign representing KC's jazz culture would look cool, but would be a bit confusing since there's no jazz to be heard within the district. We have plenty of murals and more planned to tie in KC's history, not everything has to be about it.

Wow, they are really building that fast. None of the garage is underground? I thought there would be more excavation, so that's helping get it going up a lot faster.

I think it's the fact that it's the only thing in the live block above the roof line signage wise....gives an impression that it's representing the entire area.

Can you all please discuss P&L things in a P&L thread so you can stop derailing this one? Thanks.

Looks like they're going vertical now on the web cam. Workers are pouring the second floor on Baltimore side.
