The mobile crane has reached its full length. I would be surprised if they will start building the blue crane today.

Saw the crane in person today, it’s massive. Very cool to see in person.

Three cranes total on site? I assume they will have to have one on the higher elevation at minimum.

The crane is clearly visible from Crown Center where I am. depends on the exact floor and angle to the Western Auto building
So the convention hotel is going to be visible across a large amount of downtown.

I think they will raise the crane at some point when the building starts rising. It doesn't appear to accommodate a 24 story building at it's current height.flyingember wrote:The crane is clearly visible from Crown Center where I am. depends on the exact floor and angle to the Western Auto building

Tent is up for the official groundbreaking ceremony today. The site looks packed with construction equipment for today. Pretty good view of all the excitement from the webcam mentioned earlier.

Hopefully it's just temporary or being moved, because the camera isn't up right now.

They are still working hard on this project. Do you think this is a double shift project?

They are working right now on Saturday too. Not like the weekdays, but there's definitely some equipment working.ldai_phs wrote:They are still working hard on this project. Do you think this is a double shift project?

One area that seems a bit under-discussed on this thread is the influx of 750+ jobs to the area. In addition Tk the hundreds of temporary construction jobs, this hotel will be the largest employee to open up downtown in years.
While these jobs aren’t the traditional white-collar disk jobs, they are jobs nonetheless. Just thought I’d put this in the thread.
