Q2 down 55/44 with over 60% reporting. Not looking good at all...

Meh, while Chastain's plan could help if passed, it isn't necessary. I'm more concerned about Q1.
If Q1 passes, then I hope the city's legal team can find a swift way to strike it down.

Feel a little better. I was surprised how many otherwise progressive folks seemed to think Q1 was "Pro-transit".

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
So, how does Question 1 hurt the TDD and the streetcar if the city IS actually taking it to voters? I mean the city is taking the issue to voters. Just not the entire city.

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
That is the whole point of Q1. They don't like the TDD because it wins.
I suspect it will be deemed unconstitutional or something by council and not affect much except for bad press. I hope.

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
and this vote again proves why the folks in Platte & Clay County, and probably Eastern/Southern Jackson in KCMO should not get the opportunity to vote on these issues. Suburbanites will NOT vote in favor of transit, that's just the fact of life in America.grovester wrote:That is the whole point of Q1. They don't like the TDD because it wins.

The KC Election Board will only announce the results from their voters. The may make an announcement when the info is received from all boards or the Star or local TV.chingon wrote:4DaveKCMO wrote:citywide, so it will be the star or one of the local TV networks. they have systems to handle the reporting from the various election boards (four? five?).

The anti faction has done a good job of claiming that a city wide vote is more fair and less gerrymandered.
Geography will always be the enemy. KC is just too freaking big.

Kansas City is doomed and I'm gtfo as soon as possible. We will never be able to win against the brain dead rubes. They run every aspect of this backwards "city". I'm done. DONE.

Meh, they'll all die off in a decade or two. Most of the idiots who are against transit tend to be in theirs 60s & 70s, still living in their fantasy-land of the "American dream", not realizing they turned the country into a nightmare. Thankfully we've got the Gen Y'ers, Gen X'ers and Millenials coming up.JBmidtown wrote:Kansas City is doomed and I'm gtfo as soon as possible. Shouldn't have delayed the extension vote in the first place. Have to blame the council for this and those who went along with them in order to gain some type of 'partnership'. If the extension vote would have happened at the same time as the Go Bond vote, this election wouldn't have mattered.
