Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's annoying that i can't make a weekend in KC out of a game this year, not that i can't visit KC anyway.

Christian Colon and Omar Infante should be worried though. Cuthbert is already taking grounders at 2B.

The real question is who's going to be our new closer?

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was present for both the 1985 parade and last year's. 1985 was nowhere near as crowded as 2015. I remember my group parked relatively near Crown Center and walked over to Grand without difficulty -- albeit we were much younger and more spry naturally.earthling wrote:When Royals won 1985, the crowds may have been distributed between two big parties - the after game party jammed packed from Crown Center to Plaza and then the official parade, which I hear seemed to be more of a family thing at the time. It also may have made a difference that Royals didn't win at home this time, a lot more wanting to go to the single event (as well as KC metro now larger and unusually nice weather yesterday).

Seeing what the Yankees got for Chapman, I almost think Wade Davis could be a decent haul. I really think Relief pitchers and closers are easy to find, there have been so many that come and go thru the years. Finding quality position players for the future can be tough to find.

You're probably right, but it seems like we beat up on other teams closers a lot more than they beat up on ours.

I don't know if they are easy to find if you are most MLB teams, but if there is one thing DMGM has demonstrated a great aptitude for, it is landing/trading/settling (starting pitchers) for great relief pitching.brewcrew1000 wrote:Seeing what the Yankees got for Chapman, I almost think Wade Davis could a decent haul. But i think if you have good assets (Relief Pitchers) its a great way to stock the farm back up. I think the Yankees should trade Andrew Miller and get even more talent. I really just think RP have a short shelf life, Jokim Soria is a good example of that. I think Davis is showing signs that he is not untouchable anymore and could really see him implode in a few years.

Ditto.
The Cards probably are, but to actually create legislation to that affect is ridiculous.
Well... if you can't be the best team in Missouri.

I'll go with recent WS championships (2011, 2006) and consistent, winning tradition (100+ years) for the WIN as I tip my hat to the 2015 Royals.WSPanic wrote:StL_Dan wrote: Based on what criteria?

Well, if you're going to judge a team based on consistency, I can't help you.

Best team in Missouri should be current season. What is past is past.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By that metric, you probably have to give it to the Cardinals. But the Springfield ones.
