yeah all that uses is a simply iframe to display. Do you have some sort of ad blocker or firewall. I know that for some reason has been a problem on the front page of this site for some people.

Hmmm, my Norton/Symantec firewall has been on the fritz these past few days...I keep having to deactivate it in order to view many websites...don't hack into my 'puter now.
I've tried to fiddle with it but haven't had any success so far...and it's not set to block all content either.
As for pop-up blockers, something strange happened in that I ran updates for my machine, and then all of the sudden I had a pop-up blocker installed without warning. And then after a couple weeks the pop-up blocker disappeared for no apparent reason. I don't understand any of this. But given this, maybe it is on my end. Though I have the same problem with the elusive development dates box from my work computer too, so maybe not. I just don't know.

Is there a way to make it show timestamps like the old one? It's nice to know whether a conversation is current or not when you come to the site.
Also in IE6 on Windows XP I get the following javascript error pop up every time the new shotbox refreshes:
Line 34
Char 3
'window.parent.who.location' is null or not an object

man you don't hide your javascript errors? I see that now in the corner...I'll see what's up.
I haven't found a way to timestamp yet.

Nope, I can't have mine hidden since my job requires about 25% of my programming be done in javascript.

the old shoutbox was better. this one doesnt allow long sentences and has a small "archive." and it is really temperamental with formatting. every time i come to the site it's sort of in a different place on the browser, and the text box is constantly shifting around.
just saying...

Is the new shoutbox broken? For the past couple of days whenever I log in there's just a huge blank space where the shoutbox should be.

the history can be set for any amount of time. Right now it's set at 8 hours.
Not sure about formatting...it's always the same place for me.
