And the show's title is "Fargo"... and the climax of this season's story is expected to be set in Sioux Falls. The geography can get confusing.JBmidtown wrote:But it says Minnesota...

Colorado band The Northern Empty has a new album out with an old photo of KC on the cover. Who'da thunk.

“Oh, you know what The Northern Empty’s doing? They're going for that Neutral Milk Hotel nostalgia-marketing dollar. That’s a good market. They're very smart.”taxi wrote:Colorado band The Northern Empty has a new album out with an old photo of KC on the cover. Who'da thunk.

Re: KC in TV and Movies
KCRaggers, sorry for the self-promotion. This will be the last one...
I'm very close to reaching my Kickstarter goal. If I don't get there, I get nothing and no one gets charged. And loftguy won't get his big furry yoga pants (available to you, too, for just a $100 contribution).
There is 27 hours left, and lots of other rewards that make it a decent deal. This is a fun film with a nice message. It's worth telling. Please consider contributing and help me spread the word. Thanks!

I already did. And I NEVER EVER EVER post anything to Facebook because Facebook is stupid and I hate it, but I posted a link to the kickstarter with a note that people should contribute. I feel dirty and gross about it but I did it because I want this thing to succeed.

Re: KC in TV and Movies
It actually feels better the 2nd time. And 3rd, and 4th. But after that, it feels gross again. I am looking forward to this being over, it's not my favorite thing to do.
I appreciate all the support, though, and look forward to sharing the movie with my fellow KCraggers.
Just a few more hours and I'll be either crying in my beer or smiling in my beer, but quite possibly sleeping in my beer. One thing for sure, though, there will be beer.

I've been watching the Kickstarter page with fingers crossed for the last hour. Just saw it kick over past the goal. Congrats!

Does anyone know if parts of the movie "Bad Grandpa" that were purported to be in Missouri were actually filmed here?

Sounds like a movie filmed entirely in the KC area will hit the AMC Theaters on Friday. Movie name is Trust Fund and used KC locations to substitute for Chicago and Italy.

How did KC stand in for Italy? Did the story only happen near large prefab metal buildings?aknowledgeableperson wrote:used KC locations to substitute for Chicago and Italy.

Re: KC in TV and Movies
From channel 41
"In the movie, a large Kansas City home doubles as an Italian villa.
"We'll show big scene setters from when we (did film) in Italy, but then we shoot a little bit smaller, a little bit closer, and honestly you won't know where you're at," said Martin."
