KC is the 2nd best city in the nation for book lovers?

http://livability.com/top-10-cities-book-lovers?page=9
Kansas City gave rise to the great Ernest Hemingway, need we say more? Don't worry; we will. Kansas City also houses 21 bookstores, including local gems like Rainy Day Books. Rest assured, after a stroll through this small but cozy store, you will be fully prepared to spend your next rainy day curled up with a most excellent book.

Strange list.. is by city only including small towns... is not by metro. Is interesting that KCMO makes the list but OP doesn't. KCMO and Minneapolis/St. Paul are the only Midwest cities on the list I saw (that are of major metro areas).

Overland Park named Top 25 city to retire in

They do cite as a drawback the lack of transit.

17th best city for foodies. Ranking emphasizes BBQ but KC is so much more than that.

That's actually pretty cool that it's even on the radar screen. With PAC, KC will have two iconic buildings (not to mention a host of beautiful older buildings).

Combine that love of culture with a walkable and livable downtown,
Could be a helluva lot more walkable.

Apparently Forbes couldn't send reporters out to Seattle, SF, etc. And if the list is about downtowns, why include anything on the city's BBQ, fountains and the Plaza? Not that downtown hasn't come a long way, but to say it's the 7th best in the country is stretching it.

Maybe the judges went to the Plaza by accident. More than one person outside KC has told me what a great downtown KC has and then, after some discussion, I find out they are talking about the plaza.

While Forbes touts our walkable downtown, a look on Kansas City's Wikipedia listing has this photo and caption. No one on the street.

A look down Downtown Kansas City streets today.

Can we at least have some photos of downtown today with people on the streets and maybe some traffic?

Should be best places to raise a family instead of best places to live. Another area win.
