Thanks, the GM at Latte Land also said she would validate... I'm headed up there now to do some work actually... In the mornings that I have to head out of downtown, I am going to try doing this (leave home, park at Cosentinos, grab my coffee, hit the highway)...ColumbusParkian wrote: KC Kroph, it's 30 minute free parking in the Cosentinos lot. You don't even have to get validated until you hit 31 minutes, and then it's free for 2 hours.

KC Kropf, don't you already live downtown? why is parking an issue? Just wondering.

Yes, I live downtown, but my office relocated from downtown to Leawood. I am a mobile employee (sometimes in the office, sometimes work from home, sometimes work from latte land, and often traveling and seeing clients).trailerkid wrote: KC Kropf, don't you already live downtown? why is parking an issue? So on the days when I head out early from downtown, what I do not have (did not have) in my neighborhood is a quick stop for coffee. Yes of course I "could" get up early enough to walk 10 min, grab a drink, walk 10 min back to my car and then head out. I know it sounds pretty lazy (and un downtown like) to complain about having to do that.... but I typically get up, run 2-3 miles outside, come back shower and roll out...
So what is nice now, is that I can simply park at Cosentino's, grab some Latte Land and hit I35 South from 13th Street.
I am sure if I put enough thought and planning into this, there are other spots around Crossroads district in which I could probably do this same thing, and of course I could wake up earlier. What was really nice, was when JP's Wine Bar was open in the morning for coffee.

I'm glad to hear they're doing well. I was worried, as whenever I walk by it seems very slow. Then again, i never walk by during prime breakfast hours.

They seem to do well for lunch. They have paninis and other sandwiches. Today is taco tuesday where they have up to 4 tacos for 50 cents each. Not amazing tacos, but to offer a meal for $2 was the smartest thing they ever did. People come in expecting to spend $2 and end up with a cookie or other baked good.ColumbusParkian wrote: I'm glad to hear they're doing well. I was worried, as whenever I walk by it seems very slow. Thank you everyone.
The new one in P&L does not.
Could not reach anyone at Royal Cleaners by Cigar Box.
Found one North of the River. Dry Cleaners of Kansas City up by Briarcliff.
Really weird, there are numerous that offer it in the 'burbs, I've had a hard time finding one in urban core.

Does anyone know if it's possible to rent the green roof for events? Who manages the park, the city or Cordish?

Not sure about renting it. The city manages it, last I knew.Angel wrote: Does anyone know if it's possible to rent the green roof for events? Who manages the park, the city or Cordish?

Apparently you can't rent that unless you're a resident. At least that's what they told me today.

Can't you rent the rooftop garden on top of the library? Pretty sure I have seen wedding pics from there. Nice space too.

Yeah, that's a nice space. She really wanted a grassy roof, but I think I might have her talked into Terrace on Grand. I never did hear back from anyone about the Green Roof. I emailed and called the KCMO parks department but no response. Maybe they don't manage it?

Crazy on the 909 rooftop.... I used to live there and there were always non residents hosting events there... I know the management pretty well, if you want me to make a request of them let me know.
