Re: New Coaster coming to WOF
Well that might help WOF since Cedar Fair pretty much totally ignores WOF compared to all their other parks except maybe Michigan's Adventure which is very small.

Re: New Coaster coming to WOF
WOF needs to up their game since a water sports park and Margaritaville Hotel is part of the redevelopment plan at the former Schlitterbahn site.
https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/ ... -plan.html...
Chief among these, and newly revealed in UG filings, is a plan for an $85 million Margaritaville themed hotel with 250 rooms, tied in with the project's Homefield Outdoor water sports facility. The resort's design will resemble that of the Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe | Houston, which opened June 2020 in Montgomery, Texas, but with a greater focus on multi-sport athletic facilities.

Re: New Coaster coming to WOF
Worlds of Fun has really fallen off the past 20 years. It's probably the most ignored park in the Cedar Fair chain, outside of maybe Michigan's Adventure, which is a very small park. It just seems like WoF is slowly turning into a local park like the one in Des Moines or something when it used to be major regional park.
I wonder if SeaWorld would help or hurt that.

Re: New Coaster coming to WOF
Even with Cedar fair treating WOF as the red head stepchild of their park lineup, I have a feeling we dodged a major bullet there. Sea World likely would’ve killed what viability WOF has leftfreedog wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 9:38 am SeaWorld's offer to buy WOF's parent was rejected

If Sea World would have been a quick death for Worlds of Fun, then Cedar Fair is a slow and painful death.

Disney land is 500 acres. Disney world is 20,000?. KCI is 10,000. Are you thinking what I’m thinking?

Re: New Coaster coming to WOF
Some rumblings online that WOF is finally getting a new coaster for the 50th anniversary (next year) in the area where Dinosaurs alive was. So far just grading plans submitted on Compass.

Re: New Coaster coming to WOF
Honestly could be possible with the WC coming that Cedar Fair would be trying to put some new rides/attractions at WOF. Money definitely talks in a situation, even if it’s for a week in 4 years.

Re: New Coaster coming to WOF
I don't see how the world cup has anything to do with WoF. A new major coaster there is way overdue and it's likely been planned for the 50 year university for some time. Some are still saying WoF won't get anything like what they put in at Carowinds, Ceder Point, Kings Island etc every few years. Cedar Fair needs to give WoF some attention. I try to follow WoF since it's a big part of my childhood and it really seems like the park gets very low attendance now.Anthony_Hugo98 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 17, 2022 9:56 pmHonestly could be possible with the WC coming that Cedar Fair would be trying to put some new rides/attractions at WOF.
