Pro-Arena protest/rally Monday August 2nd
We need massive support for this!!!! two TV stations already setting up. We need to have a good turn out! I've heard the "anti'" goons are coming out in force. I know it's hot out, but may be our last shot at getting the word out. I think there will be water available.
See everybody at 4:30. Invite all!!!

That settles it, I'm gonna rearrange my schedule so that I can come back for the afternoon, sometime a little after 5.

Okay, good, plenty of people are coming late. Stick around. I'm going to try to get out of work in about 20 minutes and head that direction. Anyone have any signs to share? Otherwise I'll stop off at home, plaster myself with "A New Day" postcards and ride up there, but that will make me a bit later.

We were down there from about 4:30 - 6. Probably around 40-ish people at the Enterprise location ( including Shaw from Fox 4 ) .
Then we heard there was some CATT people over by the Broadway Bridge, so we all went down there. Like Powercat said, there was a whoppin' TWO people.
Gawd awful hot, but we had a good time.

The 8:45 gig was on Main in Midtown, not the downtown location. I went downtown and saw some people scrambling around. When I started circling the parking lot, nobody was around. I then went home via Main and confirmed my suspicion -- TV cameras were set up across the street from the location there. By that time, I assumed it was too late.
Oh well. It is go time. No more rally chirades. I'll be manning the polls. Hope to see some of you at Union Station with a big collective smile.

This is a nice twist... Mayor Barnes and Paul Danaher live in the same precinct, so Channel 4 was able to interview both of them showing up to vote at Briarcliff Elementary.

I was just talking to my manager. She just got her Cheifs season tickets in the mail and they came with a letter from Lamar Hunt in support of the arena. Apparantly he wanted to set the record straight on the Enterprise lies about an arena being a risk to our sports teams.
Nice touch.

There was a few anti's on the Plaza during lunch yesterday at Main & 47th Street. I put them straight!

Probably because me, my drunk cousin and his friend pulled our car up on the curb and told a couple of them to get the fuck out of KC and go back to St. Louis or we were gonna kick their asses!Beltonhawk wrote:There weren't any anti's on the plaza when I left work yesterday...but there were a couple pro's that I honked at....
